The project area includes both SICs and ZPSs, which have been designated to protect their habitat. In particular:

SPA ITB023037 Costa e Entroterra di Bosa, Suni e Montresta and SCI ITB020041 Entroterra e zona costiera tra Bosa, Capo Marargiu e Porto Tangone: as stated in the definition of their quality and importance, they encloses the most important breeding colony of Griffon vultures in Italy;

SPA ITB013044 Capo Caccia and SCI ITB010042 Capo Caccia (con le Isole Foradada e Piana) e Punta del Giglio: in the definition of their quality and importance, it is stated that they represent one of the most important breeding site for Griffon vultures in the Mediterranean area;

In the Natura 2000 Standard Data Form of the following sites, all enclosed in the project area, Gyps fulvus is listed among the species referred to in Article 4 of Directive 2009/147/EC:

SIC ITB011155 Lago Baratz – Porto Ferro;

SIC ITB211101 Altopiano di Campeda;

SCI ITB020040 Valle del Temo.
